Health Equity North has produced this status report which provides a snapshot of the key health issues facing the North of England. Our report provides the first of what will be annual ‘Health Equity North
Health Status Reports’. Here we outline the key health issues facing the North today. Specifically, we examine the latest data on regional inequalities in life expectancy, infant mortality rates, and provide new analysis of what the 2021 Census data tells us about self-assessed health, disability, economic inactivity and unpaid care in the North.
